Fixation!

I’m afraid I’m pinging on one of the cardinal sins. The guilt has almost killed me… self-criticism doesn’t help, confession holds no meaning and remorse isn’t useful any more. The only thing I see escalating is my desperate craving.

A reprehensible idiot that it is, my conscience awakens only after I’ve already indulged!!!

That’s my fixation with food. And the little volumes around me speak a thousand words about it! People, who know me, know what any gastronomic marvel can do to my senses. Starting from a Dal-chawal to Red curry to Garlic Squids… for an all-eatarian like me every meal is a feast.

The pangs are even higher when it comes to Momos… I guess the palpable difference between obsession and mania is what represents my love for food in general and momos in particular. Those sumptuous little things are the most delightful culinary inventions that I have ever come across. Ambrosial, delectable, luscious, palatable, savory, toothsome, gratifying…I can’t seem to use enough superlatives to describe the dimsum wonders… not to forget the breathtaking condiment that swelters on the taste buds like the blazing sun on bare skin.

On a more philosophical note, it represents serendipity – a sudden overwhelming excitement… a bland looking dumpling becomes quite a mouthful when digged into. For the connoisseurs, it is assured contentment… always surpassing expectations.

The guilt-o-meter is showing red now… I have not only sinned in action (biting and relishing), but also in intent (scripting opinions and drooling at the prospect).

If there is no forgiveness, I prefer to be a martyr :)
